Live From Our Bubble

Throughout the world, one finds various bubbles filled with intriguing humans, animals, plants, and water. Some bubbles are healthier than others, and I would like to share a short version of mine:

The bubble I live in on the northern coast of California swirls with beauty in nature protected by citizens who care about our environment and wish to live in harmony with it. It is for this very reason that beauty abounds in northern Cali. On this Memorial Day 2018, I chose to walk along the ocean shore to convene with the spirit of my Mother whose ashes were cast to the Pacific long ago. Gaia ensured a beautiful day with the sun shining, blue skies, and a temperature just shy of 70-degrees. The shorelines along the San Francisco coast are not often filled with people as one finds in Southern California, but today there were hundreds of families and dogs milling about enjoying a rare, unfoggy day.

As I walked in the sand, I could hear numerous snippets of conversation all around me, few were in the English language. I adore hearing the words of other nations and cultures as people accent and inflect around a bevvy of syllables. I have no idea what they were saying save for the two conversations I heard in Spanish and one in French. All percolated with happiness as one or two statements lead to laughter and pushing (with one group), and another with a young boy’s hair tousled by his Mother. I continued further catching glimpses of the shorebirds flitting about, chasing the ebb and flow of the tide to capture something to eat.

After a fun evening with friends (some old, some new), this feeling of thankfulness and peace fills my soul in this little bubble by the Pacific where progress and citizen power prevails in the now 5th largest economy in the world. SF Cali Coast
